August: National Immunization Awareness Month

National Immunization Awareness Month

Parents or guardians play an important role in protecting their children’s health. What better way to do this than by making sure they are fully vaccinated against diseases we can protect them from? Now, we can also protect unborn children by vaccinating pregnant women against pertussis (whooping cough).

  • Adults are not exempt from immunizations as we continue to update your protection against tetanus, pertussis, pneumonia and influenza. We also have a vaccination for shingles that is given at age 60 and over.
  • Remember to think early about vaccinations for school. Now is the perfect time to have your school age children vaccinated.
  • Please refer to the link for the CDC for vaccination recommendations and remember that your AFM healthcare team is here to help address any questions or concerns you have regarding vaccinations. We hope to see you soon!
